Mount Beckworth Wines

The region is known for producing some delicious wines, so you cannot choose accommodation in Clunes or surrounds without trying some for yourself. Mount Beckworth Wines, a popular drop in the area, is located only 30 minutes drives from the Ballarat Budget Motel – the perfect day trip.

Location

The vineyard itself is located on a small plateau on the eastern side of the mountain, around 25km north of Ballarat. It was established in 1984 and is only around 10 acres in size. Whilst the vineyard is located in the Ballarat surrounds, the Cellar Door (known as “Enotca @ Clunes”) is found in the main street of nearby Clunes (only 6km away).

Wines

Those choosing Clunes accommodation for the wine will be able to enjoy premium varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The wines have won more than 73 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at shows and festivals around the country.

Opening Times

The Cellar Door is open for tastings and sales on weekends – other times are by chance or appointment. If visiting during busy times of the year, such as Christmas, you will find them open more regularly. During the year, a number of special events are held at the vineyard – pre-purchasing tickets is a must.
